Show Us Your Stuff May Challenge - hearts & poems

This layout came together really late at night after a few days of over thinking it. The pic of my hurricane boy was perfect and I knew what I wanted to do to make it happen!

The challenge this month was to use both hearts and a poem on your page.

The sponsor for this month is Charms Creations. Some of the most gorgeous fabric embellishments I have seen and they are all hand sewn and unique!

The poem featured was suggested to me by ? From the SUYS DT. I just couldn't find one that fitted, but this is perfect and absolutely is hurricane boy down to a T.

Products used:
Resin camera, moustache and 2 hearts (black and white) are by The Resin Rainbow.

Resin Moustache: https://www.etsy.com/au/listing/280885448/moustache-resin-embellishment

Resin Heart design in White: https://www.etsy.com/au/your/shops/theresinrainbow/tools/theresinrainbow/au/listings/query:hearts,sort:title,order:ascending/264184548/copy

The hexagon shaped pin with coloured pieces is from Rainbow Splendour.
The 3 feathers are also from Rainbow Splendour and started their lives as lime green until I painted them and then added glossy accents to make them pop!

Denim Rose is handmade and from my stash, I know I purchased it a few years ago from a online store that is no longer around but I can't remember the name.

The background is layered papers, and vellum tags, envelopes and glassinine bags. The white mesh is the protective mesh from a bottle of duty free alcohol, once it was stapled flat it was perfect for some extra texture. All items in the background have been stapled on.

Moustache on my son is just a stick on ..

Now that you have checked out my layout, go and see what the rest of the DT have created here:

Show Us Your Stuff April Challenge - Stamping! sponsored by StampinUp!

Ahhh stamping .. its something I don't do much or have many of. I figured out early in my scrapbooking life that I was not a stamper. I've tried workshops, classes, YouTube clips to try and help me out - most to no avail. I'm a paper, paint and texture fan for sure.

The sponsor for this month is DeeZigner Papercraft is very generously donating a $30 Stampin' Up! gift voucher for our lucky winner!
So it wasnt much of a surprise that the SUYS challenge for this month was about using your stamps, I didn't really have many to choose from.  I made the most of what I did have however and used them to compliment the background in small details and used my viewmaster acrylic stamp in a few spots too.

LIttle known fact about me. I like fries on my burgers. It seems that my daughter does also. This was one of the very few times that she has had a burger from the Golden Arches and did just as mummy does - opened it up, took out the pickles and inserted her fries. Yep, shes definetely a mini-me.

Plenty of gorgeous resin pieces from The Resin Rainbow were added to this layout included:
Baby Pink Filigree scroll flat layer (cut in half)
Cupcake and base which were initially white but I then painted them in Colourblast Texture Paste in Lipstick and Teal.
Pink Heart
Bow Tie
Teal mini Roses
Teal butterfly
And resin dots are scattered around the page.
All paper items were out of my scraps boxes.

Background was done using the triangle stencil and Colourblast texture paste in lipstick. I then used the kaisercraft triangle stencil in black stazon ink for added definition. The viewmaster stamp was added on the side, under the title and ended up being hidden under the image.

The title is recoloured thickers, alpha stickers and HS ghost letters.

So now you have see mine, let me see yours. Go and create your work of art in whatever form you like (it doesn't have to be a layout!) and upload it to the SUYS blog!

Enjoy you month and thanks for stopping by!
Cheers

White.. With 1 April Challenge - Jester Red!

Welcome to April.

Red is my absolute favourite colour. My husband and children are well aware of my red obsession. It comes in many forms from deep crimsons to a pure primary red to a rose red. I ❤️ them all.

When WW1 announced the colour for April. I did a small happy dance! .. Had the perfect image for it and knew that it was just going to work so well!

Those that have met me probably know our fur children Harper & Jasmine as well. Our non-running or racing completely retired lounge lizards/greyhounds. Our girl Harper worked perfectly for this and did something we have only seen her do on a small number of times. SIT!
Because of the way hounds bodies are very streamlined and mostly muscle, sitting isn't something they do easily or often. Laying down however .. That's a different story. There is a reason they are called lazy lounge lizards.

Plenty of gorgeous resin pieces from The Resin Rainbow were used on this layout. Including:
:White heart
:White roses
:'Adore' word in red

All silk and paper flowers from d-lish scraps.

Don't forget to enter the challenge this month & pop over to see what the rest of the creative team have done! Check it out here.

Have a great month!

SUYS March Challenge ..sponsored by Rainbow Splendour

I admit that this challenge at first had me a tad stumped. not for long though. I just needed more than 5 seconds to look at the challenge sketch and look at my images printed to find some that worked!

The sponsor this month is the amazing Rainbow Splendour! .. You can see all their amazing goodies here

As always I have gone with my own bright funky style using some paint and gesso with the TH 'faded dots' mask along with TH stains in mustard seed, blueprint sketch and cracked pistachio.

I tore up some bright pink tissue paper and kinda roughly applied it with gel medium down the sides in a very rough way. In real life it's really bumpy and not at all smooth. The paper has a white star pattern through it but it didn't come out so well on scanning it.

The title is done with Thickers by Amy Tangerine in 'momento' font. I love how the teal colour pops with all the big stain splashes.

Clear Triangles, teal flower and orange heart are by The Resin Rainbow (facebook & etsy store)
The Chevron Rainbow clip is by Rainbow Splendour.
The Red bird was also handmade many moons ago by Leanne Pearce from
http://thepaintbrushgoesspottie.blogspot.com.au back when she had an etsy store.

Well now that you have seen mine, show me yours! .. You can go to the Show Us Your Stuff blog for all the details and to upload your entry:)

Enjoy Your Month!

White.. with 1 January Challenge–Treetop

Happy 2016 to you all!
This colour reminds me of sunshine and rainbows and Kermit! .. maybe its the green, its a very frog like green isnt it? The Rainbow Connection even.

As soon as I got saw colour I KNEW it was going to lean towards a nature/tropical type image and these ones from our last trip to Penang where we stayed at Golden Sand Resort at Batu Ferringhi were PERFECT!

Lots of fabulous pieces from The Resin Rainbow have been added and some diluted gelatos were used for the big green splash on the background.

Click on the link for the direct link to the products in my store .. you can request whatever colour/s you like from the drop down list on each link.
Have you had a chance to check out what the rest of the CT have done with this amazing colour yet? here is the link so you can and then give it a shot and upload your own challenge entry too!

Show Us your Stash January 2016 Reveal ..

Welcome to 2016! .. Where did the last year disappear to?

I was lucky enough to be chosen for the SUYS design team for 2016 And couldn't wait to get started. So each month (mid) you will see what I have created for the challenge.

The challenge this month was based on this mood board that was sponsored by coco vanilla studio.

And this is what I created..

I have had a raw wooden bracelet hanging out in my to-do something one day with it pile and finally the perfect idea!

So I grabbed the white gesso and painted it vivid white. I then added chevron tissue paper with gel medium to the inside and out came my colour blast texture paste in 'raspberry' to do the outside. It was done very roughly using my fingers so it has plenty of texture. It looks sensational close- up. You will have to trust me on that one!

then it was time to dig into the stash for items that screamed summer/beach/sunshine and matched with the mood board colour range. I used plenty of helmars 450 adhesive to get it all to stick!

Here is the list of what came from where ..
Continuing circles in teal as the background item from my store - The Resin Rainbow
Resin Dots in pink/white stripe, light green/white, pink ombré, mint green from my store - The Resin Rainbow
Hot Pink Scallop in 3 sections is actually a scallop border that I cut up from my store - The Resin Rainbow
White daisies (a set of 5, but I didn't use them all) from my store - The Resin Rainbow
White stars from my store - The Resin Rainbow
Pink Dolphin is part of 'mermaid tales' set

Wooden birds from Corbett Creations.
White Circle Mesh, teal daisies, pink frangipani flower from delish scraps

metal charms from my stash except the pineapple which was purchased on eBay and started life as a earring.

Here are some more close-up images .. It wasn't easy getting images of it!

Why don't you go and check out what the rest of the DT have done for this gorgeous mood board.
Don't forget to give it a shot and enter as well!

Cheers
